Want to know how to fight fatigue, combat stress and boost your energy reserves? We’ll get right to the point: it’s easier than you think. There are foods that fight fatigue, and building your diet around them can make a world of difference in the way you feel.

Foods that Fight Fatigue by Decreasing Inflammation

Many of us are low on energy because our bodies are in a constant state of low-level inflammation, so it’s important to eat the foods that fight fatigue and avoid those that cause it, like sugar and alcohol, for example. If you’re wondering how to fight fatigue on a daily basis, you’ll want to follow an anti-inflammatory diet. Fortunately, this is easy to do. Here are some basics to keep in mind:

  • “Veg out.” Vegetables are perhaps the best foods to fight fatigue. They help boost your energy levels because they are easy to assimilate. They contain fiber, which helps move food through your system naturally, and they are less irritating to the colon than foods like animal products, or processed and refined foods. Vegetables leave less residue behind, and less residue means less inflammation.
  • Almost all vegetables will help your body reduce its level of inflammation but some are such high performers that that you’ll want to give them a starring role whenever possible. Try any of these members of the Brassica family, which all are great sources of the flavonoids and anti-oxidants your body craves to fight fatigue:
  • Kale – tear the leaves from the rib to use in a salad, or try it sautéed with ginger and garlic, or lightly steamed with a touch of lemon juice.
  • Cabbage – shred it and add a light dressing, or use it in a soup.
  • Broccoli and Cauliflower – great in salads and stir-fry dishes, or steamed in a small amount of bouillon seasoned water (Seitenbacher’s broth is great) but also try these cruciferous superstars steamed, with lemon and a sprinkle of Bragg’s Amino Acids for a simple, yummy side dish.
  • Avocado, mushrooms, onions and garlic should also be staples on your shopping list of foods that fight fatigue.
  • Spice things up! Many spices, including cinnamon, cloves, and ginger are powerful and delicious ways to fight inflammation. Turmeric, which lends its bright yellow color to curry, deserves special mention for its inflammation-fighting abilities. Try it in stir fries or even smoothies.
  • Go nuts! Walnuts, particularly, can help keep inflammation at bay. In one study as little as four walnuts increased blood levels of omega-3s, which help the body manage inflammation. 4 walnuts! Now that’s how to fight fatigue!

Ingredients:

1 Bag Organic Frozen Strawberries

1 Bag Organic Frozen Raspberries

Raspberry Strawberry Smoothie

Preparation:

1. Thaw the frozen fruit and coconut meat. You can soak bags in hot water to speed this up.

2. Add all ingredients to VItamix and blend until smooth.

3. Pour into bowls or your favorite fancy glasses and share a kiss w/ your sweetie-pie before you enjoy!

4. This recipe is rather thick so we suggest eating w/ a spoon vs drinking.

Orange Peppermint Vegan Chocolate Fudge Hearts

Ingredients:

4 c Raw Cashew Butter

10 T cocoa powder

2/3 c Maple Syrup

2 T Coconut Butter

4 T Vanilla Extract

2 T Almond Extract

3 T Orange Extract

2 T Peppermint Extract

2 Generous Pinches Himalayan Sea Salt

Cinnamon for a dash of pizzazz upon serving

Preparation:

1. Place all ingredients in bowl and mix thoroughly so all lumps are blended and no clumps remain.

2. Place mixture in glass casserole dish and using spatula, spread evenly about 1 inch or so thick or you can use cookie cutters and fill with fudge to make fun designs.

3. Place in freezer for about 1 ½ hours or until completely frozen.

4. Remove from freezer and cut into squares or bars or if using cookie cutters, simply and gently press fudge through molds while still frozen to remove while still maintaining their shape. Place in Tuperware, cover, and immediately place back in freezer.

5. Leaving these cuties our of the freezer means they will melt so keep frozen until ready to serve.

Ingredients:

6 c Unsweetened Coconut Flakes

2 ½ c Lucuma Powder (Option: almond flour)

1 ¾ c Maple Syrup

1/3 c Coconut Butter

2 T Vanilla Extract

2 T Orange Extract

1 Peppermint Extract

1 t Celtic Sea Salt

OPTION: Sprinkle of cinnamon to add after dehydrating or add to batter when mixing.

Preparation:

1. Using a big mixing bowl, add in all your ingredients and mix thoroughly.

TIP: Ingredients at room temperature will be easier to combine.

2. Use a mellon scooper to shape macaroons. Mash down your ingredients in scooper so the macaroon will be compact before you release it onto your dehydrator tray.

3. I suggest dehydrating at 110-115 degrees for about 6 hours. This will assure a moist interior and a slightly crisp shell. Dehydrating longer will make for a dryer result.

4. Serve with a KISS and option to top with a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra zest and eye candy!

Step By Step: Colonic Irrigation For Beginners

Here are four simple preparation steps to colonic irrigation for beginners. Remember, these steps can begin immediately and especially 2-3 days before your first time colonic irrigation appointment.

1. Drink fresh vegetable juice on an empty stomach to loosen matter and gas in preparation for your colonic irrigation treatment.

2. Hydrate your intestinal system properly. A sensible amount of water to drink daily is based on half your body weight converted to ounces. IE: 140 lbs / 2 = 70 ounces of water. Your body needs plenty of water to efficiently flush its system.

3. Refrain from drinking carbonated beverages, eating dairy, processed foods, white flour, and heavy protein like red meat.

4. Increase salads and vegetables for lunch and dinner and yes, they can be delicious meals
